Sahul Exploration was established in 2017 and is a privately owned active and focused junior mineral exploration company. We are exploring in the highly prospective East Pilbara region of Western Australia.
To date the company has been granted 6 leases, totalling 258 Km2.
At Sahul’s Bonney Downs Project, the focus of the exploration has been the underexplored McPhee Dome and particularly a microgranodiorite intruding the volcanic sequences of the Panorama Formation. Hosted by this microgranodiorite, Sahul recently declared their maiden Mineral Resource of 3.6Mt with a gold grade of 1.5 g/t for 170,000 ounces (inferred). The prospect is called the Heart. Only the surface 80m of the Heart deposit have been drilled and several additional gold exploration targets are related to this microgranodiorite. Therefore, there is significant potential for rapid resource growth.
The microgranodiorite is also thought to be the “engine” more broadly responsible for the older hydrothermal base metal mineralisation hosted by the Panorama Formation. Extensive surface sampling at the project has defined several kilometre long Cu and Zn soil geochemical anomalies. Some anomalies are coincident with geophysical anomalies and remain untested. Historic intersections like 22m at 7.87% Cu from 19m in drill hole QCRC017 (Igloo Prospect) and 17.74m at 16.11% Zn from 46m in drill hole ALCO019 (Emperor Prospect) confirm the base metal potential of the Bonney Downs Project.
Rock chips with over 2000ppm lithium have also been recorded and are possibly related to the microgranodiorite intrusion.
To the south of the McPhee Dome, the project also incorporates rocks of the Mosquito Creek Formation, host to several nearby gold deposits. Sahul recently recorded highly anomalous Au results from their initial reconnaissance stream sediment sampling.
Adjacent to the McPhee Dome is the Kelly Belt, where initial reconnaissance work identified rocks highly anomalous in nickel, copper and cobalt, related to an ultramafic intrusion.
The Copper Hills project covers rocks of the Corunna Downs granitoid complex, west of the McPhee Dome. The tenure holds significant exposure of the Split Rock Supersuite intrusive (Sn-Ta-Li rich granite), and the company has recently started their search for lithium mineralisation.
Sahul has also identified the potential for porphyry copper style of mineralisation associated to the Boobina Porphyry. Rock chip samples up to 19% Cu (pXRF) & 1.5 g/t Au are associated with a fault structure which has been mapped 2.2 km strike length.
